Continuing with the in-house sharing interesting articles, eBooks, books, and what-not my boss drops off a book at my desk and encourages me to read it. The book entitled Crush It!: Why NOW Is the Time to Cash In on Your Passion by Gary Vaynerchuk just so happened to be the same book I saw in the latest round of webinars at Inbound Marketing University.
I ended up skipping that webinar because I was not up for an hour long open Q&A about how to Crush It!. But in the five minutes I did see of that webinar, my take away was that some people digest things in different ways: some through videos, some through written text. I am definitely one who was going to snatch up the book to digest Gary’s message rather than look at a handful of random photographs with audio streaming over them. Yea, I could have continued to do other things while I listened, but it was my lunch. And coincidentally, I didn’t have to go buy the book. The book found me. How cool is that?
Okay, getting back on topic–the inspiration! the passion! This blog entry’s typed version originally came from a quick scribbled entry in my topic idea notebook. (My laptop was shut down at the time I was reading, and I really wanted to prepare a blog entry from how this really cool pep talk inspired me. It was late at night when I finished reading, and I was going to post the entry the following morning. But to no avail I came down with a cold that next day.) Not being able to get to my computer until now, I will admit, this entry has gotten a bit edited. However, the following is straight from the scribble:
“I’m currently on page 32 of his 142 page book and I seriously got a really bad itch to start writing. I really enjoy writing, critiquing, encouraging, teaching. Writing has always been a passion of mine – more than drawing. As Picasso can create the visual, I’d be the one to accompany it with the 1,000 words description.
So, yea, as I’m crushing it, smashing it, beating it, here comes the inspiration and determination of living my passion.
…Back to reading more of how to Crush it!”
I highly recommend you pick up your own copy of the book, or borrow it from a friend. It will inspire you to do what’s in your DNA!
Disclosure: I’m only recommending this book on my own accord. I’ve been in no way compensated for this review.
